Maureen,Ron and the entire staff work hard to deliver great food at reasonable prices and make you feel like a guest at a large, familydinner table.  After being warmly greeted and seated, the salad cheese bars are easily accessible, fresh and tasty.  Whileall of the entrees are excellent, the steaks are the stars of the menu, regardless of which cut you choose.  Cooked perfectlyto your choice of temperature, they melt in your mouth.  Coupled with a large and perfectly cooked baked potato, thisrestaurant is truly a steak lover's delight. Maureen and Ron, thanks for keeping this Monroe landmark as it's been for 50 yearsbut with the right number of modern upgrades.  More importantly, thanks for maintaining The Smithy as a destination for arelaxing evening with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere!

I am a good cook and that is why I generally don't eat out all that much! But the food here is outstanding and meets my expectations of agreat meal. The steak I recently ordered was exceptional and cooked to perfection!!! I will be back for sure!!!!!!!

However, lately they have risen to above outstanding with the lamb chops. Large, perfectly cooked with afantastic flavor. I?ve gone back twice in two weeks.

I would put their streaks up against ANY of the high end steakhouses I?ve visited. Perfect sized,uncomplicated salad bar included. Always nice to start out with a cocktail and some cheese and crackers! (Who else does this?? .The value for your dollar is very well spent here! Generous portions, generous sized adult beverages?The Smithy has it all!! Oh,and you can leave your fancy outfit at home?or wear it?whatever?this place will accept and treat you the same great wayregardless!!

The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, cocktails and wine are well made, and their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Sadly, many family run restaurants have closed their doors,unable to overcome pandemic restrictions. The Smithy, however, has thrived! We?re definitely looking forward to our next visit!
