Catfish Cabin is a landmark restaurant in Monroe, Louisiana. In their fiftieth year of operation, no passing through Monroe is complete without a meal from Catfish Cabin. The staff is always gracious and accommodating. Each table is the recipient of abasket of downright inhalable piping hot hush puppies. These are unlike any other hush puppies you will ever have: light as air,a customer would be hard-pressed to not have a whole basket before you order. Catfish Cabin has the best sweet tea in Monroe. There are plenty of selections on the menu, mostly seafood combos, but the Hearn's gourmet burger is possibly the best burger intown, definitely better than the offering of any of those trendy burger eateries that have popped up in the last decade in mostgood-sized towns. Their accommodating wait staff is seasoned: no rookies here, each is armed with knowledge of each menu itemlisted and suggestions regarding menu choices. Catfish Cabin's onion rings are hand battered and taste as though they are madefrom 100% Louisiana sweet Vidalia onions, a great appetizer option. Catfish Cabin is in their fiftieth year of operation, andthey remain a premier dining establishment in northeast Louisiana.

We had a party of about 30 people in the back party room and we had ONE server. Bless his heart, he worked his guts out. Whatever he made last night, he earned it and then some. The food was ok, the turnip greens were so salty I couldn't eat them. This is the first time I've been in 4 years, just not my favorite.

From Baton Rouge Louisiana and I will say this is a SORRY excuse for a seafood restaurant. The food was bland, the coleslaw looked like vomit and tasted like blended lettuce. Just awful. Maybe it?s because north Louisiana seasons and cooks fooddifferently but all I can say it was very unsatisfying especially for the price that was paid. The only thing good was the sweettea, that makes it worth the one star. Again if you?re use to seasoned food, don?t eat here. Go somewhere else.

Had moms 80th birthday celebration here. She loved it and the party room was private to share personal tributes to mom. Two thumbs up to Russ he helped us coordinate everything at Catfish Cabin.

Most of the food was fine. The oysters were fried so hard, they were completely inedible. The fried shrimp were bland, stuffed crab was tasteless. The turnip greens very very salty.. The Catfish, frog legs, boiled shrimp and hushpuppies were excellent.Service was great. Some of the food needs improvement, or maybe a better cook.
