Dondonacaffetteria Con Gastronomia A Monopoli

So if you a looking for a great spot near Piazza Garibaldi for a coffee, breakfast, lunch, aperitivos and light bites, then look no further. DonDana is a gem of a find. It is nestled under a shady and breezy archway (yes even in August!! and there you will find Paola who serves the best fish sandwiches and “riso patate cozze” in Monopoli. Everything is locally sourced and home made and it is just so lovely to have a light lunch or evening snack just watching the world pass by.

I am very sorry to write bad about someone’s activity but I find it right to alert the next adventurous. A few days ago in search of my daily brioche and cappuccino veg milk I decide to change place and to venture into the streets of the old town looking for fresh and understood in this place. I find it not particularly beautiful, but in an attractive place of the old town, near places certainly more worthy and historical, but I decide however to try a new place and give it a chance. I order the usual I take every day for years in all places of Monopoli but with my immense imbalance I pay at least 1€ 1.5 more than usual. For a soy cappuccino (that then in 2022 beyond the soy we could offer also of the other) that was a boiling milk and coffee since it did not have foam (they are now for years vegetable milk making foam like the classic milk), where I asked for cocoa and cocoa was not put, on a table that was not even cleaned by the bricioles of previous customers, the chair idem and where I had to lay alone. Ah, no glass of water here is basic practice such as saying sugar sachets. The brioche was good, but here it is impossible to be different. Now I'm sorry, monopoly friends. But to open an activity you do not improvise. I have never paid 4,50€ a breakfast, I do not want to say “because I miss Milan” (which then is true) but simply because the places where you pay a breakfast more than you see them, you recognize them, perceive the value you went to pay and I was simply looking for something else, since I was just a simple place with a cappuccino and a good brioche. This is teasing customers. Those who believe tourists to be damned that both tomorrow or in 5 days who see them give more value to money and how they spend them. And maybe they are tourists because they will talk with a different accent but they come to Monopoli since they were born Council strongly other places, very close, historical with excellent services and products.

Friendly staff and sandwich (puccia) with swordfish very good even if not too big. Recommended because in a street thrown out of the casino.
