My husband and I went out to Bistro 33 for our 26th anniversary and were very disappointed with our dining experience. For starters the table we were seated at for our reservation was a small table next to the kitchen doors. We don't get out too often and seeing as it was a slightly pricer place we asked nicely if there were any other tables available. It was apparent this irritated the waitress greatly who reluctantly seated us at another table (which was quite nicer I might add). It took 40 minutes before our orders were taken. It seemed that the restaurant was under staffed, however there were couples who came in after us and were severed first, maybe we were forgotten about? Finally when we did receive our food it was only satisfactory. I would like to point out that I went to Bistro 33 about a year ago and the service and food was much better then. Perhaps they were just having a bad night?
Visited the Bistro yesterday for a late lunch. It was Terrible. We waited 45 minutes from the time we ordered. The special, pasta was cold and had to be returned to be heated. It boasted butter shrimp with tortellini. The shrimp was covered in a thick sauce and you were barely able to tell what was shrimp and what was pasta. The bistro burger had onions on it, that looked like they were cooked last week. Soup of the day was cold and tasted bad. slightly burnt. The ruban with fish chowder was tasty and Hot! but the ruban had very little meat. This meal was served by the head chef. He was friendly but couldn't believe he was happy serving these meals. Definitely the worst meal we have had in a long time maybe ever. We have eaten at the bistro many times at their old location. We will not be back.
Food is not fresh. Canned gravy over filet mignon it’s a crime . The filet mignon wasn’t fresh . The floor was so dusty and dirty . It’s the second time I tried this restaurant, had a bad experience the first Time potatoes 3 days old, steak was hard and wasn’t fresh decided to give it another chance , but it was worst, so disappointed.... it’s no worth it for the price .
Our Valentine's experience started with the reservations which were limited to a 5:30 or 8:30 sitting. While we accepted the 5:30 time slot, and were there till 7:45 , there were many empty tables throughout our time there. The selections were from a Table d' Hote menu with a cost per person that exceeded recent experience in Ontario. Our first course soup) arrived at a lukewarm temperature which we returned and passed on. Our second course mussels) arrived with the same problem of temperature , but we decided to eat. Our third course duo of pork and steak tenderloin) arrived and the temperature again for the meat , vegetables and rissoto we're only lukewarm. Dessert was good. Finally, the billing was incorrect overcharged). This experience will not entice us to return to a place that we have had no issues with in the past.
