My $39 steak was average, not melt in the mouth tender which I expected it would be. Way too many chips were served on the plate and I would have preferred the very good vegetables instead. They came as a side serve and were the best part of the meal.
I have been here a few times during the year and they always manage to dish up a good steak. Lots of cuts and quality to chose from and good selection of side dishes. Also the wine list has some older wines at reasonable prices. Good for a "mates steak evening".
Had dinner recently at Squires Loft Tooronga, Valentine's Day actually, not for a romantic dinner but just to get out and enjoy a nice time with my partner. We had been to Squires Loft Albert Park not long ago but wanted to go out somewhere closer to home.Huge difference between the two, Tooronga is more open, louder and lighter, less inviting for a relaxing sit back and enjoy your meal type experience . The menu was different, I really enjoyed my slow cooked lamb at Albert Park, but alas, not on the Menu at Tooronga. Our meal was ok, the service was good but it was so very different from our other Squires Loft experience that we felt dissapointed. Our fault really, different location means catering to a different type of clientele I suppose. Our next Squires Loft special steak dinner will most definitely at Albert Park.
After a long absence, I visited a restaurant that I used to frequent regularly. I was concerned that the nostalgia wouldn't live up to reality, but I had nothing to worry about. The meal was perfect as always. I had the surf and turf with black pepper sauce, which was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the staff was on point as usual. I can't wait for my next trip there.
