**A Mixed Bag: Dining Experience at a Local Pub** This charming pub offers a delightful selection of German dishes and a vast beer menu, particularly during Oktoberfest. While many patrons rave about favorites like schnitzel and Bretzel appetizers, inconsistencies plague the experience. Customers have faced challenges, from irregular hours and limited menu items to cleanliness issues and slow service. Some highlight stellar dishes that truly impress, while others describe underwhelming meals. Despite occasional setbacks, this venue remains a compelling choice for those who crave authentic German cuisine, provided they manage expectations and perhaps confirm opening hours before visiting.
I dined here while staying in downtown Moline and had a wonderful experience with the German cuisine. I particularly enjoyed the red cabbage, and the hot German potato salad was also very delightful.
I had lunch today, but the restaurant is still closed due to a pipe break. The place looks quite damaged.
I couldn't assess the food or my overall experience at the restaurant. It came highly recommended, but when I arrived, the sign indicated that they were closed due to a water pipe issue.
Customer service was quick as well as receipt of my order. However, and this is a BIG HOWEVER. The jagerschnitzel was unseasoned and only had a tablespoonof gravy. Two enormously over cooked mushrooms were placed on top. The mushrooms had a burnt taste. The fries were soggy, and flavorless. Of the order the most dissatisfying part of the meal beside the failed schnitzel was the red cabbage that tasted like boot leather. Extremely weird taste. Not worth a visit.
This is a charming little pub. The beer was nice and cold, although they were out of around 60% of their German selections. Thankfully, we managed to find one that was quite delicious. I had to change my order twice because they were out of certain items, but I’m hoping that was just a result of the restaurant being very busy before we arrived. Some tables weren’t cleaned, and our waitress was a bit slow in checking on us, but at least it was easier on my wallet.
