Reviews - Ruby Thai Kitchen
Reviews summary
This restaurant evokes a spectrum of responses from diners. While some cherish its unique flavors and quality dishes—like the beloved Thai beef jerky and flavorful noodles—others have encountered disappointing service and subpar food quality. Several patrons noted instances of unsatisfactory dining, including dry chicken, undercooked appetizers, and a disheartening dining atmosphere. Concerns over inconsistent service, particularly regarding customer treatment, have also been raised. Despite the range of experiences, one thing is clear: while some continue to enjoy the offerings, others have chosen to take their business elsewhere. Proceed with caution.

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. The quality and flavor of their chicken was the worst I've ever experienced. I actually ended up getting sick when I got home, still tasting it in my mouth.

We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for a long time without any issues, but our experience last week was quite disappointing. My husband and I went in for dinner and asked to be seated at a specific table. However, the owner or manager directed the server to place us at a different table, which we did not prefer. When we requested to move to another table, the manager instructed the server that we could instead wait at the entrance. We waited there for about half an hour, and eventually asked the server for an update on our seating. The manager then made it clear that we had to sit where he wanted us to, rather than at our requested table. It was apparent that he was very friendly and accommodating to customers who appeared white, while we, being Hispanic, felt a noticeable difference in the treatment we received. It's unfortunate! We used to be regular patrons and recommended this restaurant to others, but that is no longer the case. We will not be returning!
I've visited Thailand several times, and while this might not be as authentic as noodles from a street cart in Bangkok, it's definitely one of the best options in Modesto! I'm also a big fan of Thai tea! I really enjoy the Thai beef jerky appetizer, especially with a bit of sriracha. All the noodle dishes are fantastic—the pad see ew is great, the pad kee mao is delicious, and even the pad thai, which is my wife's favorite, is excellent. I absolutely love this place!
I’ve been dining here for the past 15 years whenever I visit Modesto. The food is always served hot and fresh, and the service is outstanding.
