Osteria Ruggera - MODENA

Was here an eating holiday tour italia with my year old Italian mother. today came to the city and realized that most restaurants are closed on Monday night. had some research about the fork and found this place in a word: fantastico! we have divided a plate of prosciutto which was very good. I had the hand made tortellini in brodo, which was spectacular and my mom had the hand made gnocchi with gorgonzola, which we both agreed was the best we ever had. light, airy and amazingly tasteful gnocchi. we then had the roasted rabbit and carrots and again, was great! could not have been happier with the amazing food in this quiet osteria. also a very beautiful wine card. no comment to dessert, as we were too full. basta!

Beautiful tiny restaurant with a charming owner, the oldest osteria in fashionna serves the tasty dishes, all fresh and made to home. we had to start parmiggiana, followed by handmade tortellini in brodo and I had to order the roasted rabbit it was too good (and my children ate almost my first order: the desert was raised and the Sicilian owner who has been caring for the place for over 33 years, a joy! we are safe back!

Food was pretty good. Service was ok. There was a language issue so that’s understandable.

€15 for tagliata di manzo and it was poor quality meat. I asked for Lambrusco Amabile and I was told that “in Modena we only drink secco”...I not sure if that is true but “unfortunately no sir” would have been more pleasant.
