Tried to get the bill for 30 minutes, we ended up just leaving the money on the table.

It is predominantly a restaurant an... read more Jay and I always come here on our visits to Mittenwald. Everything about it gives you a real insight into the local culture. It is predominantly a restaurant and can cater easily for two parties, weddings and other celebrations at once. On Tuesday evenings in the summer there's an "eat as much as you like" buffet with a wide range of local choice food. you will also be entertained by a band playing typical Bavarian music and singing. We happened to visit when a wedding reception was taking place and it was great. The guests including children were nearly all in traditional dress and there was much singing and dancing to one of the local Bavarian bands. Even with these events going on, the PostKeller is still open to locals and visitors, you do not see signs here that say "Private party invited guests only". A real bonus here though is that behind the brewery is, the brewery shop which is open to anyone. Here you can buy glasses and other breweriana/memorabilia as well as beer, wines, spirits and soft drinks at excellent prices. If you're thinking of bringing something back to remind you of your holiday try the Brewery Shop.
