What a wonderful find. Definitely worth a visit. The view from the restaurant and balcony are both spectacular. My husband had the lamb special which was lamb two ways and I had the lamb rump salad. Both were generous portions for lunch and very tasty. We tasted their wines the pinot gris was a little sweet but surprisingly nice (I prefer dry wine). It was so relaxing. Love the cows the best. Five stars. View all feedback.

We’ve gone to this place twice after website and Facebook indicate they open and the phone message of trading hours and the place is scare. Need to work on your advertising of opening hours. May not make an effort next time. View all feedback.
The restaurant has a nice venue and delicious food, but unfortunately, our dining experience was overshadowed by the rude behavior of the owner or waiter. Our lunch was marred by his arrogance and lack of people skills, giving off the impression that he did not want to be there. We tried to order large coffees from the friendly waitress, only to be told by the owner that they do not serve coffee in mugs because they are a restaurant. Additionally, we witnessed him being rude to a group of ladies who came for a wine tasting before turning them away. Overall, we won't be returning to this establishment.
The wine selection at this restaurant is exquisite and the view from the balcony is stunning. The staff may not be overly chatty, but I would still definitely recommend coming here.
Service: I recently had lunch at McVittys with some friends and we were about 15 minutes late. We informed them of our delay upon arrival. We had originally booked for 9 people, but had a last-minute cancellation, leaving 8 of us. Our waiter, who seemed young and inexperienced, took our drinks order and we had to remind him. We were in no rush as we were there for a leisurely lunch. After ordering our drinks, we had to wait for them to be served. Overall, it was not a big issue.
I had lunch yesterday at this restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and I also enjoyed the wine. I would definitely recommend this place for a peaceful lunch away from the crowd.
In the new management we visited for lunch and we were pleased to see new employees and menus with large service from the door when we left. ,the new menu had a lot to choose for everyone as well as a large selection of stunning local wines and apple wines. the generous share plates are a large new menu item that we enjoyed together with the eye fillet that was made to order. definitiw will be back to this southern highlands edelstein.
