The first thing I saw when I walked into the company's Christmas party was the wonderful rustic atmosphere, the second was the phenomenal spread they had for us. The service staff had such a good amount of food for us, they kept it looking good and had us well-stocked with drinks. It was a wonderfully done dinner. I hope I get to eat here again soon! What Chris W doesn't like about The Russell:
Very outdoorsy feel. Woodsy, cabin like. Didn't expect everything to be good but it was! Everything was made fresh. Started off with Ember grilled shrimp and Truffle cheese toast. Both were next was Fish Chips and The Russell burger. The fish was light and crispy. I love ketchup and this burger didn't need it. Ended with some pastries. Excellent. Definitely coming back. We shared the truffle cheese toast and I had the steak chimi sandwich with spinach and artichoke soup. Everything was amazing. We are going back as soon as we can. The seating was great with different niche spaces for all size and type of groups. Best lunch I've had in a long while.
Great spot for lunch on 32nd and Main on the south side of Kansas City, featuring a wide variety of meals along with an impressive baked goods section. The food is extremely fresh, and the flavors are certainly above average. I'm not sure either of us thought our meals were extraordinary, but we certainly enjoyed them. Would definitely consider stopping by again for lunch the next time I'm in Kansas City!
Always good though was a bit chilly when it was 4 degrees outside but what are you gonna do....
If you’re looking for a great option for local food, look no further. We stopped in for lunch and we’re blown away! Rustic and cozy! Staff was quick and friendly, gave great suggestions and we had our food in no time.
Lovely wood fired spot. Can't go wrong with anything. Everything from the red pepper hummus to the steak chimmi sandwich to the pear salad with grilled salmon is splendid.
