Amazing quiche and latte! We can’t wait to try the German chocolate cake I got for my husband’s birthday today.

This bakery has excellent pastries and often has bagged up special of day-old pastry for sale. But I also always get the other fine desserts as well especially fancy cupcakes and cookies. The best cookies are the originals from the older location off of Wornall. The ones that are like butter cookies with a chocolate dollop. They also have food for lunch and delicious coffee. McLain's is the absolute best. My husband I go frequently for breakfast dates in KCMO and I've also been to the Overland Park location many times for one-on-one work meetings. They never disappoint! My husband's go-to breakfast order is the Pepperjack Burrito and mine is the Veggie Quiche. Their Lemon Blueberry Scones are incredible, too. We also can't get enough of their cake! Great for a full hot breakfast, quick coffee and pastry, or pre-ordered bakery items. The space itself is adorable. Popular among locals, and even though it's renowned enough to drum up a crowd most days, the line moves fast and food comes up quickly. They also sell cute gifts for bakers, tasty take-and-bake cookie dough, and a few pantry staples.

We absolutely love McClain’s, it’s excellent food, and wonderful to take for weekend breakfast with our little ones. The bakery is incredible and their custom cakes are the best we’ve found in the city
