Apple Wood Fish Chips - Mississauga

We went out for lunch because I was craving for fish and chips. Service was fantastic. It seems as if the place has tons of regulars.As for the food, it was good. We ordered the family pack. The fish was awesome, probably one of the best in town. The coleslaw, oh man. It was phenomenal. The gravy was good with the chips.The lady forgot the smelt that we ordered and she was apologetic. She gave us a larger serving on the house, plus a free small coleslaw. It was much appreciated.

We have visited this restaurant many times, and we've always received great food. The fish is great (and the fresh cut fries and a good tasting addition). The food is good value, and we will continue to support this local business

I recently found out about this place last year. Since then, my friends and I haven't been able to stay away! The fish is always very fresh and cooked to perfection, a lovely golden brown colour. The coleslaw is amazing and we recently tried some of the other seafood options and were very satisfied. Highly recommend to everyone! The only drawback is cash only, I sometimes forget about that myself. All in all, great food for a reasonable price, can't go wrong!

I went to this place with my wife and mom and son. We arrived and seared ourselves. The first thing my wife and I noticed was we were dining on really old carpet. This carpet had a smell to it. Not sure it's a good idea to have carpet when serving food items.i mean I don't have carpet in my kitchen. I don't know maybe I'm wrong it just smelled wrong OK enough of that. The fish was good however the oil needed to be changed so it came a real brown color. We had halibut and haddock both came the same color. The fries were good. Again the oil needs changing. So in the end a couple of small changes could make this place perfect. The people were friendly.

This place is your typical mom's and pop's restaurant where the decor needs updating. Aside from the aesthetics, the fish is good. I prefer the halibut but you can't pass up the 5 haddock family deal! The batter is light and crispy and not too oily. The fish is flakey and not overcooked. The coleslaw is homemade and not overly creamy or heavy. Most of all, the service is great.
