What Kenya Treutel doesn't like about 1809:
Our waitress took forever to get our coffee, my father had to get up and grad the pot and serve everyone in the restaurant. Our food took over 30 minutes and it was soggy. The place itself was beautiful, and amazing view, maybe if there was more staff it would have been better: Service: Dine in View all feedback.
I truly enjoy this restaurant. I've visited several times and have had a great experience each time. The food is consistently delicious, the service is quick and warm, and on pleasant days, there's a lovely view of the water along with a nice patio to relax on.
This restaurant deserves a solid 4.5 rating (I'll deduct .5 for the service speed, but I'll give the server some leeway since she was new). The food was outstanding. I ordered the cedar plank salmon with a twice-baked potato, while my wife enjoyed the coconut curry chicken supreme served with mashed potatoes. Everything was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, including the side vegetables. The flavors, particularly the mango pineapple chutney, were intriguing yet not overwhelming. For dessert, we savored the salted caramel crème brûlée and flourless chocolate cake. Both desserts were executed flawlessly, with a pleasantly mild sweetness. Additionally, the view was among the best in town, right along the river (as part of the Rodd Hotel), offering us a front-row seat to the bridge and boats passing by.
We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast that included pancakes, a Healthy Start, and toast. The food was exceptional and expertly prepared, and the staff were friendly and efficient. However, there were some downsides: the selection of hot beverages was quite limited, offering only coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, with no lattes or other specialty drinks available. Additionally, the milk was served in small plastic containers, which is not environmentally friendly.
