We had breakfast at this restaurant and found it to be quite good, although there was room for improvement. My wife really enjoyed her chilaquiles but felt they could have benefited from the addition of eggs, more chicken (which was hard to find), and perhaps a few extra chips on the side for added crunch. I ordered the mushroom cemitas sandwich and was really pleased with it; it had a nice level of heat and was very satisfying. I also tried the spicy hot chocolate, which was rich and delicious. However, the service could have been better. We noticed our order was ready but had to wait five minutes before asking the server if we needed to pick it up ourselves, at which point he brought it to our table.
I had a fantastic brunch experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the location is lovely. I particularly enjoyed the chorizo torta with eggs, and the lavender latte was delicious. Keep in mind that it's a self-seating and self-ordering place, and it's connected to Centro.
**Cemita Sandwich: A Unique Concept That Missed the Mark:** The Cemita Sandwich at Vivir piqued my interest with its unique concept, but unfortunately, it fell short in terms of flavor. While the idea was captivating, the execution didn’t quite meet my expectations. There was an unusual spice or herb that clashed with the other ingredients, resulting in a taste that didn’t resonate with me. **Avocado Tostada: A Bright Spot:** On a positive note, the Avocado Tostada stood out as a dish I truly enjoyed. It featured a wonderful balance of flavors, and the freshness of the avocado really shone through. This dish highlighted Vivir’s potential to create delicious and well-crafted offerings. **Enchilada: Lacking Distinctiveness:** Unfortunately, the Enchilada did not live up to expectations. It lacked a defining flavor profile and failed to make a memorable impression. I found myself yearning for more complexity and uniqueness in its taste. **Overall Impression:** Vivir has the potential to elevate its culinary offerings by exploring new and exciting flavors. While some dishes missed the mark, the Avocado Tostada demonstrates that there is promise in the kitchen. With a bit more refinement and creativity, Vivir could evolve into a dining destination known for its distinctive and flavorful dishes. In conclusion, Vivir is a restaurant that presents a mix of highs and lows in terms of flavor. Although not every dish was successful, there is hope for improvement and the creation of a more memorable dining experience in the future.
The breakfast burrito is sooooo good!! usually meatless breakfast burritos feel like they’re missing something but this was so perfect the way it was. i tried a bite of my friend’s cemita and that was delish too, and the brown sugar latte was the perfect amount of sweetness as well. will definitely be coming back to try everything else on their menu! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
