Better than expected! We were in the city for a concert and picked the restaurant for the location. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was great, the drinks were tasty, and the food was wonderful. I had the shrimp and pesto rigatoni and my daughter had the mac and cheese with shrimp. What Jerry Lee doesn't like about Union Bar & Grill:
We made an online reservation and received an email confirmation of the reservation. The day before our meal date we received another email confirming the reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed. Later that evening we checked and the restaurant was still taking online reservations for that date. Popped in here with a friend before catching a show at the Orpheum across the street Location-wise, it's fantastic.
Unfortunately, this restaurant lives up to its low ratingIt is decidedly bland for being in a prime location for business.
Grubby ambience, clumsy recipes, sloppy preparation I had the dry hamburger with a weird Caesar salad.
Great food and service. Very friendly staff and very accommodating for our two children. We all ate until we were full and went into our pockets with two more meals worth of food. Great neighborhood restaurant and good Italian food. I would recommend the Calimari as a starter who can keep up with the best that Chicago has to offer. We will come back 10 out of 10 experiences! ????????
After having had dinner here for a long time, we were very disappointed with almost everything. Hope it was just a deviation.
