On my first visit, I was impressed and can already see myself becoming a regular customer. The prices are fantastic, and the food is excellent for what you pay. I spent less than $9 for a sandwich, fries, and a drink! The staff was very friendly.
While the décor is a bit dated, the comfort food is truly what stands out. They offer a variety of options, from burgers and gyros to salads and hearty dinners like ribeye... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Best Steak House:
Not what I was expecting but it was something different to try. Upon walking in, you go right to place your order or go left to find a seat. Get a tray, open the sliding door to get your salad and then add your dressing and extras to it as you approach the register and place your order. The T-Bone was their special today and was rather disappointing. I opted for fries instead of the baked potato and they looked good,... View all feedback.
Update: this place has been closed every time I've stopped by. The phone is disconnected and a sign on the door just says closed. I hope it's temporary, this was my Wednesday lunch spot. First time here and now a life long customer. The prices are amazing and the food if superb for what you pay for. I walked in spending less then 9$ to get a sandwich fries and a drink. The staff were very nice; decore is dated but with good comfort food, who cares. Enjoy burgers, euros, salads or dinner items like ribeye steak and cake slices. I was blown away; I thought it was going to be adequate food and higher prices but damn if I won't be back again soon.
When you do a search for the best steak houses in the Twin Cities, you will be shown places like Manny's, Capital Grill, and Murray's. You would however being doing a disservice to the community to not consider visiting the Best Steak House. This is a no frills, no flash, old school cafeteria style steak house. Upon entering you grab your tray, utensils, salad, and dessert and move down the line to the register where you place your order and grab your drinks. There is no wait staff, so you just grab a table and soak in the atmosphere. We enjoyed our salads and drinks while we waited for about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. My wife and I got the steak and shrimp combo, steak and BBQ ribs combo, a side of mushrooms, two salads, two Texas toasts, and two beers for just under 40 bucks. The steak was seasoned perfectly, juicy, and cooked medium per our request. The ribs, while certainly not competition level BBQ, were tender and had a nice char from the grill. Fall off the bone ribs, very tasty. The portions were generous, everything was hot, fresh, and had a great flavor. If you are someone who needs to be treated like a king at dinner and requires two different types of forks, please do not come here. If you are looking for an honest, affordable, and high quality steak dinner this is your spot. My only complaint is that I didn't come here sooner, I will definitely be returning with friends.
My favorite steak spot by far! Been coming here faithfully for 30 years!!
For a small steakhouse, this is as good as it gets.
