Had a groom’s dinner at Day Block tonight. They have a separate room for events. The space held 40 people very comfortably. They can close off this space from the general bar/ restaurant. View all feedback.
What Julie D doesn't like about Day Block Brewing Company:
Terrible experience. Super slow service. All of our food came out at different times (more than a few minutes between dishes coming out) and they appear to have minimal staff. They got my order wrong and I ate alone after my family completed their meals (despite eating slow to wait for me). Would NOT recommend. View all feedback.
While we looked over the menu, we were given warm water to drink. The pulled pork and whiskey chicken were satisfactory. The fries were mediocre; the sweet potato fries were somewhat better than the regular ones, which were a bit soggy. Our drinks arrived a few minutes after our food, and we were in and out within 30 minutes—fine, but not what we had planned. Later, we discovered that there had been a large crowd lingering before the Mötley Crüe concert earlier. If we had known in advance that the menu options were limited, we would have been more prepared or chosen another place. I double-checked their website, but there was no mention of this restriction. I was a bit taken aback by the bill—$50 for two baskets and two drinks. Additionally, the tipping process was done right in front of the server, with a default suggestion of 20-25%. While I usually tip well, I felt somewhat pressured in a situation where the experience hadn't particularly impressed me. Oh well!
Great to have a brewery with a full bar. Good option for non-beer drinkers. Had a beer cocktail. It was delicious. And the deep fried mac and cheese is SO good.
The back patio is perfect for enjoying beers and burgers on a summer evening! It's dog-friendly as well! The sweet potato fries with sriracha mayo are amazing! The beers are consistently good and come with creative names.
I discovered this brewpub to be outstanding. Housed in a charming old brick building, it offers fantastic food and beer, and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend giving it a try!
We dined here for a Sunday brunch, and I ordered the vegetarian calzone. They offered some amazing vegetarian dishes, including the Argentinian vegetarian pizza. I would definitely return!
