The Egg White Omelet was fantastic! The blend of spinach, avocado, and goat cheese was incredible, and the portion was huge! Our server also brought over an amazing selection of locally made hot sauces, which enhanced the flavor of the dish even more. I would definitely order that again without a second thought! What JudyB doesn't like about Beacon Public House Graduate Minneapolis:
We walked in hopeful. It’s a cute place, it was very clean, and the hostess was especially nice. But it took forever to get drinks, food and even the bill—and we never did get the apps we ordered but were not charged for). View all feedback.
We ate there several times during our stay, service varies. Eating was always good.
Terrible service- had a reservation and after being seated waited forever for the waitress to come over. Moderately crowded but she visited our table very infrequently after the crowd dispersed. The mac cheese was horrible and had weird barbecue sauce on it. Burger was OK but there was a hair in the french fries. As far as the wine -decent selection but the Pinot Noir was served warm and in a very small glass. I had to ask for ice to cool it down and three cubes melted in the wine- appropriate glassware and chilled wine should not be too difficult for this type of establishment and for the pricing. We ended up ordering Dominoes pizza.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. My husband was seated, waited 15 minutes for the menu, and after another 15minutes left when no one came to ask for his drink or meal order. Such wonderful service!
Probably one of the worst dining experience I 've had in a long time. In short, the restaurant demands an upscale and premium price, but delivered little in quality of the food and service. We had a medium sized group. It took about 10 mins for our drinks to come, and another 40 mins for our food to come. During that time, the waitress only checked with us for once. Mind you, this was on a Saturday night with the restaurant at about 25-30% capacity when we were there. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the special dish of the night. Almost every single one of them missed the mark. The walleye special was mediocre at best. Veggies are ok, but the fish was bland. The salmon came little raw. We don 't have issue with raw fish, we love sushi. But this dish definitely did not call for raw salmon. The chicken sandwich was overcooked and had too much breading. Half of the sandwich had bacon and pickle, and half of the sandwich didn 't. Too bad, because I don 't think the breading wouldn 't taste bad if it weren 't overcooked. The fish and chips also had similar issue. It was fried for too long. The fish was too greasy, and very bland. It didn 't even come with a slice of lemon as advertised. The only redeeming food was the cheese curds. We didn 't care for the curry ketchup , whatever that was. The curds were decent, not overcooked, and pretty decent. Lastly, the drinks. Never again. Taps weren 't available. A Heineken is $7. A lemon drop shot is $10. And the rest of the signature cocktails are anywhere between $10 to $15 each, and none that we had was very good. They definitely couldn 't justify the price they were listed at. Overall, I wouldn 't recommend anyone to spend any money at this establishment. It 's such a shame, the hotel it 's attached to is great. I wish the hotel would 've selected a better restaurant that its guests could go to.
I visited here with a family member early one Sunday morning for breakfast. I was initially worried about the food because there was only one other table with people seated. However, the food was great. I had scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes and cranberry chicken sausage. It was very tasty, well prepared and plenty to eat. The other person with me had Eggs Benedict and she said it was great, though it was her first time eating Eggs Benedict. I would classify this as a fancy breakfast since it was over 20 before tip for two people. However, the food and service were up to par. I would eat here again.
