Marks Restaurant - Minden

Solid Chinese food. Not exceptional but reliable. All the standard dishes are good. Another reason Minden is a good food town.

Ordered take out last night. We have eaten here before many times over the past 10 years and have had great experiences. This was the first time we were so disappointed. Our entire meal was subpar and we paid over $100. The wonton soup dumplings were squishy, the lemon chicken tasted like chemicals and the Singapore noodles were like soup noodles with no flavor. There was barely any beef in the beef and broccoli and the broccoli was over cooked. If this is indicative of the level of service because of the increase in volume of people to the area, pay attention to the quality of food and hire more staff. Increased volume of traffic means increased opportunity in the area.

Decided to order some takeaway on our way up North on a Friday evening. We called about 20-30 minutes ahead and our order was waiting. The restaurant is a nice and clean inside with a genuine mom and pop shop feeling. The food was "Canadian Chinese " but hot and tasty. Good option for sure. (Just don't reheat the styrofoam lids!)

Real Canadianized Chinese food! As much as I make fun of this place, I still love it. The food is consistently good. But, I live in Markham so I'm used to authentic Chinese food. This building used to be the schnitzel house many years ago. And the décor has never been changed! So if you don't mind eating your chow main in decor reminiscent of the Bavarian Alps, this place is for you.

Sometimes take out when visiting in the area. Very good quality standards. Not greasy, and very tasty. Good value.
