my man and I ordered the Georgian bun and took enough for 3 extra portions after home. it was delicious, as served in restaurant, cold at home, and reheated. we were a little confused about the page choices. it says 3 cook selected pages, but it didn't click with us that meant that we don't have a choice. we wanted the maisbrot and the riders and paid for it a little extra. our waitress was in training and did good w... What User doesn't like about The Tandem:
The place was cozy with jazz and blues music playing the waitress was nice but I can tell she was new because she wasn't sure about some of the things on the menu and the menu wasn't clear with the ingredients in the food. I was served water in a rusted can which i did not drink. My first order was the grilled cheese deluxe it was too greasy and sweet from the jelly View all feedback.
Absolutely amazing food, atmosphere and service! The Spicy Memphis Fried Chicken was just incredible, like the maize bread and the potato salad. Caitlin the owner was very human, and when we asked, she shared her story, as she did Tandem in a really historic and vintage room, which used to be an old German beer house. We will definitely return!
Where do I even begin? The wait staff was attentive and I had multiple servers checking on my experience, refilling my water, and clearing our dishes away. The food was amazing, highly recommend the appetizer of house pickles which consists of different pickled vegetables served with a creamy ranch with dill for dipping. My partner had the veggie burger which was absolutely delicious, a thick quinoa burger with a toasted brioche bun and delicious lemon mayo. I had the beet Reuben which was fantastic, both of our dishes came with steak cut fries and I also tried the coleslaw which was sweet and flavored with cilantro. Blew my mind, and highly surpassed my expectations of their vegetarian food. Absolutely delicious and now one of my top recommendations for MKE!
Yummy food, good service. Had deviled eggs, 4oz deluxe Burger, sweet potato cobbler, and spicy ginger Marg. Good pricing, tasty food. Arrive hungry and cranky, left satisfied and happy. I will be going back! Pictured: the last of 6 pieces for the deviled eggs app, and the 4oz deluxe Burger w fries. Yum.
We had dinner and cocktails. My husband had the Memphis fried chicken as did our friends, and they loved it! I had carrot soup, which was okay, mac and cheese that was fabulous, and hush puppies which were very disappointing. The cornbread which came with maple butter was awesome. Service was good, and the apple crumb dessert was out of this world! The building is cool with a great bar.
