We visited for the Friday fish buffet and it was wonderful. There was a variety of fried and baked fish, along with a beef dish that resembled fajitas. The buffet also included a selection of fresh salads, rice, and beans. To top it off, there was a live duo performing soothing Latin music. And of course, we enjoyed some Modelos. It was a lovely evening out! View all feedback.
What Kellie Villalobos doesn't like about Cafe El Sol:
The waitress was very kind, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. My husband had the carne frita, which lacked flavor, and the Puerto Rican rice didn’t really taste like authentic Puerto Rican or Mexican food—it seemed like a strange blend of both that just didn’t work. Wonderful fish fry. Always fresh. Puerto Rican fare. Great service!!!!!
What a great way to wind up a work-week: wonderful freshly prepared home-cooking with lots of fresh vegetables. The music was fun. Ambiance 5 on a scale of 1-5. Hospitality and service, 5. A new happy place for me
Cafe el Sol is primarily a Puerto Rican restaurant that also serves Mexican faire. It's in the basement of the United Community Center. In addition to serving good food, it also serves the community by teaching people job skills. If you go, I recommend you try the Puerto Rican dishes. They also have a unique fish fry on Fridays with live music and dancing.
