Stopped to pick up a chicken parm sandwich Friday evening, not realizing it was cash only. Super friendly staff said no problem, take the sandwich and come back another time to pay! WOW this is the spirit I have grown to love since moving to Milton 40+ years ago and is, sadly, becoming less prevalent as time goes by. Sandwich was awesome and made better by the kindness of this establishment. I will definitely go back... View all feedback.
What Monica Walla doesn't like about Main Street Italian Eatery:
Hearty homemade pastas. Good portions. Which is suprisingly hard to find in Milton for take-out. I especially enjoy their Gnocchi w/ Meat & Cheese.I noticed right away there was a sense of community and family with customers. I witnessed multiple people being greeted by their first names on entry. And genuinely familiar banter, while food was being prepared.Granted, most of these customers had noticable Italian accen... I go to the Main Street Italian Eatery to get great take out food. They make an authentic Italian sandwich to go. We also get a lot of food for get-togethers. They make the best pasta.
Delicious, worth every nickle (bring cash). The vegetables were a little heavy on the oil but still yummy.

I felt like some Italian food and thought I would give this place a try based on the reviews. It was not what I was expecting. I would not really classify this place as a traditional restaurant. It has a larger amount of bakery items than meals to eat. There isn't really a menu so you order what is prepared/available. When you walk in their is a Tim Horton style display with a variety of baked goods. If you look forward there is a warming rack with the food that is available. I admit I went in a little later and had the choice of manicotti or a veal sandwich. I asked if there was a menu as none of the pre-made items really jumped out at me. No menu and no pricing. I had come this far so I chose the manicotti. It was in a round metal take away dish. Flavor wise I thought it was decent. The sauce was well made and seasoned which means that it was not just cooked down tomatoes. On reflection, it kind of felt like I went to my aunts to have leftovers. There is nothing wrong with leftovers especially if they taste good but it was not what I was expecting. Price wise you can't beat it. My serving of two manicotti was $5. Extremely cheap especially for the quality. If you are looking for more variety I would recommend going early. Go in with the right mindset that this is not a formal restaurant that prepares food to order.
Is it abnormal to get a grilled cheese at an Italian restaurant? I mean, I was hesitant at first but thank Christ I did. The Prosciutto Cotto Grilled
