What Joshua C doesn't like about Pittsburgh Sandwich Society Strange Roots Millvale Taproom:
Patrick, who took my order never smiled or looked happy to be there and did his best to make me feel stupid when I asked a question about the draft list. The other server was courteous but I didn't catch her name. The space was really cool, the patio could benefit with heaters, food was great, beer was alright. View all feedback. What DJ J likes about Pittsburgh Sandwich Society Strange Roots Millvale Taproom:
I went to meet a friend at this restaurant. It's a nice place with an outdoor seating area, some of it covered. Despite being busy, the service was fast and they had some interesting beers available. There is a good variety of beers to choose from. I tried a sour beer and really liked it, especially when paired with a sandwich from Pittsburgh Sandwich Society, which is located on the premises. read moreStrange Roots in Pittsburgh’s Millvale neighborhood offers a lively and unique dining experience, especially for sour beer enthusiasts. The brewery features a rotating menu of creative sours alongside classic options, making it a staple for adventurous drinkers. Its inviting outdoor patio, although lacking in heating, provides a casual atmosphere for gatherings. While the beer selection garners mixed reviews, the food—courtesy of the Pittsburgh Sandwich Society—consistently impresses with standout items like burgers and fried chicken sandwiches. Despite minor service hiccups, the overall vibe and quality food make Strange Roots a must-visit spot for locals and visitors alike.
Lovely atmosphere, fantastic outdoor seating options, and excellent selection of beer!
Wonderful food and a wide selection of beer to enjoy with a group of friends. We will definitely be returning.
This is one of our top spots in Pittsburgh. The beer is fantastic, the burger is great, and the service is always outstanding.
One of my faves.....their fruited sours are the best around
Great beer and ingenious eating!
