My favorite Jewish deli in New Jersey. I’ve been coming here for years and the people who work here are like family. Today for the first time I tried to sloppy Joe sandwich it was awesome. I also highly recommend the brisket knish, smoked whitefish salad and the pastrami!. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch View all feedback.
What Scott B doesn't like about Lox Stock Deli:
Just went over to get some lox didn't call first never used to be an issue at least pre pandemic and before the renovations. Was told the lox cutter was on vacation so they had lox but couldn't offer to let me buy any??? Got some other smoked fish and kasha person behind the counter seemed confused about the size of the containers needed came home with a little over half what I ordered. 2 customers and about 6 staff... First time trying the bagel from this establishment. Got a toasted scooped sesame bagel with fresh lox and cream cheese scallion and did not meet my expectations especially for $17. The bagel was not scooped or didn’t seemed toasted at all. The bagel it self was 3 out 10 and had thick dough. Also the staff did had an attitude. Service: Take out
I have been going to Lox, Stock and Deli for many many years. They are always friendly and helpful and they have better tasting food than most. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I know they work hard and I know Kosher food is inherently expensive, but this is over priced and not the quality the cost calls for. I feel bad to write this review. The meat was dried out even for first cut. I cannot return. This simply does not compare to the Deli King in Clark, which is a long trip for me. I have a funny feeling the catering side of the business is much different/better than the deli side.
The food here is consistently great—fresh and flavorful! The potato salad, coleslaw, and pickles are all just as tasty as the main dishes. I've tried both the pastrami and the corned beef, and I was disappointed to see some negative reviews that seemed overly critical. This place is fantastic! It brings back memories of Hy Tulip on 18th Ave near 20th in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Dare I say that Lox Stock is even a bit better? Food: 5/5.
I recently stopped by to purchase some lox without calling ahead, which used to be fine before the pandemic and the renovations. Unfortunately, I was informed that the lox cutter was on vacation. They had lox available, but didn’t allow me to buy any. I ended up getting some other smoked fish and kasha, but the staff member behind the counter seemed unsure about the container sizes. I returned home with just over half of what I had ordered. There were only two customers and about six staff members, which made the experience even more puzzling. I generally prefer not to leave negative reviews, but I was truly disappointed. With so few kosher delicatessens left, I wish this one was as good as it used to be a few years ago.
