Description

Located in historic Milthorpe, Tonic Restaurant presents a mix of enchanting ambiance and culinary artistry, attracting diners seeking fine Australian cuisine. While many guests praise the exceptional food quality, particularly the seasonal seafood and well-curated wine selection, experiences can vary widely. Some report lukewarm dishes and service shortcomings, including hygiene concerns in the kitchen. Families may find the atmosphere unwelcoming at times, especially with children. Despite these inconsistencies, Tonic remains a noteworthy destination for those in the Central West Tablelands, promising delightful flavors that warrant a visit, even if their service requires some refinement.

Gawd, my tummy still rumbles in appreciation when I recall the Meet the Winemaker event we attended at Tonic during the 2015 Wine Festival.

I enjoyed a fantastic five-course Sunday lunch, with each dish being exceptional. Although I wasn't drinking, the wine selection is quite impressive. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth the short trip from Bathurst or Orange. The village is charming, and I highly recommend this restaurant.
