Although I can’t recall the exact cheese listed on the menu, its flavor was overshadowed by the bold tastes of the meats. The toppings, especially the tomato, were fresh—impressive for early January, when fresh tomatoes can be hard to come by. The sub was delicious overall. The spread could have used a bit more heat, but it worked well with the rest of the sandwich. The bread had a nice crust without being too tough, making it easy to enjoy. The restaurant had a distinctive atmosphere with plenty of character, and the staff at the counter was very friendly. That said, the price is somewhat steep—I paid $15 for a sub and bottled soda. While they do use high-quality deli meats, it’s worth noting that just a short drive away in Lewes, you can get an Italian sub and soda for $10 at a popular local spot, which also offers more meat and cheese than Two Meatballs. I’m looking forward to bringing my wife here to try the pizza, as she’s a big fan and could add to my perspective. I definitely plan to come back.
