The Lap Mei Fan was enjoyable, and the rice stayed crispy even after being taken to go. However, the soup portion was quite small for over $7. Perhaps the ingredients are expensive to source? I wouldn't be certain, as my mom usually buys the ingredients for soups at home. Given the current inflation, it’s understandable that prices have risen.
The Lap Mei dish was disappointing, featuring stale rice, dry, burnt edges of the pork, and greasy Chinese sausage. To top it all off, it was excessively salty! I was really let down. This dish was advertised as one of their best, but it didn't live up to my expectations at all. With the service fees and other charges, my bill exceeded $25, and honestly, it was terrible. I won’t be ordering this again! Yuck!
The food was delicious; I just wish they had salted fish to go with the pork cake.
