E... read more Walking through the back streets of Millau we came across this very interesting family run bakery that specializes in split cakes as well as regular pastries. Everybody in the shop was very friendly, and offered us samples to taste, as we had a bus to catch, we did not buy one of thier spit cakes. TIP: A spit cake is a European cake made with layers of dough or batter deposited, one at a time, onto a tapered cylindrical rotating spit The dough is baked over an open fire rotisserie-style. Generally, spit cakes are associated with weddings and Christmas.
