I'd skipped breakfast this morning and thought when we arrived at the restaurant that I'd be hungry, I was and still am! Three of us had reserved a table and arrived to eat at 13.00. Not unusual but when the plat du jour is already off the menu you have to wonder. Didn't they make enough? Was it really popular today? What were the alternatives? The last question was answered by the unsmiling and inefficient waitress, the options being salad, salad or salad. This was supplemented with a slice of tart (quiche). So you order and you wait. There's no option of an apéro beforehand although wine is offered as part of your meal. So no chance of a beer while you soak up the sun...The food arrives and is green, as in there being no other contrasting colour on the plate. I'm not counting the line of cucumber pieces in a creme fraîche sauce because that was the same colour as the plate. Lettuce, cold lentilles, olives, and a block of potato with leek(?) also cold, made up the est of the plate. The slice of quiche was old and also cold, and strangely the fried, caramelised onions tasted of nothing! I thought maybe my taste buds had been affected by some malady but no because I could taste the vile coffee afterwards. This was food badly prepared and bland beyond belief. So much so, remember I was hungry, I could only manage to eat about half of it. It was so aweful that I've actually written this review to warn people. I don't write reviews, I don't like to draw negative attention to the town I live in but I must on this occasion.I couldn't help but look longingly at the restaurant across the square with envious eyes and a rumbling stomach.
