I reviewed their shipping FAQs carefully before placing my order at 3 PM for next-day shipment and paid in full. Two days later, I received a call informing me that my order still hadn't been shipped. When I expressed my frustration, they hung up on me and canceled my order. I highly recommend getting your lobster from a different place!

I called the next day to report this issue, and was told that I should have contacted them immediately, and that my daughter-in-law should have cooked the lobsters within a couple of hours. Firstly, how can we determine how long the lobsters were dead? Secondly, my daughter-in-law has never cooked a lobster before, and my son and grandchildren would not have been home for several hours. I specifically chose a day when I knew they would be available for dinner, and I paid $159.99 for four 1.25-pound live lobsters. They offered to provide me with a credit for the dead lobsters (excluding shipping) for a future order, effectively asking me to pay for shipping that was inadequate from the start. The service was terrible, and I would never order from this restaurant again. I’m only giving one star for the lobster that was alive, and that’s only because you have to give at least one star.

My most recent experience, where I... read more This is the fourth time we’ve ordered live lobsters from Dorr Lobster to be shipped to North Carolina for special occasions. My most recent experience, where I surprised my family in Raleigh with lobsters on Christmas Eve, prompted me to write this review. I can’t say enough good things about my experiences with them. The online ordering process is quick and easy, and the lobsters arrived on time, alive and well. They were incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. Thank you for making it so simple! Rest assured, we will definitely be ordering from Dorr again and again.

This was during supposed open hours but when we arrived there was no one anywhere around to greet us. Honestly a waste of time for them to even be listed. Reviews from others on this thread were not helpful due to the fact that they say you can buy lobster direct from here. Not clear on whether this is true yet. We ended up being very successful in all of our seafood needs at Chipman's Wharf. This is where you should go if you're looking for fresh lobster and seafood! The staff are also very kind/welcoming and helpful!!
