Settled on Square Bar after extensive peeks at the various cafes and bars around the area. The outside seating where we wanted was full and management realising we did not cherish sitting inside, freed up a reserved table. What a great experience it turned out to be. My partner wanted a dish off the Cafe Menu and was told that only Aperitivo was available at this time. We followed the locals and ordered a couple of what we learned to be the Aperol Spritz, essentially Prossecco and Aperol, a liqueur which looked similar to Campari with an opotional splash of Soda Water. Topped with ice and garnished with a slice of Orange, this drink was as good as it looked. The food was inside the Cafe, laid out in Buffet form and was extensive, abundant and excellent quality. The staff were young and exuberant making it a fun place for cocktail hour . All along the strip and almost exclusive at this time, bars, cafes, restaurants were advertising Aperitivo . Priced mostly between Euro 12 15, included a cocktail and all the food you could eat, not dissimilar to Spanish Tapas. We were told by management that Aperitivo continued on thru the nite and they stopped serving their Cafe Menu once cocktail hour started. If it is thinking outside the box, it certainly works as the Square Bar was well patronised thru the 2 3 hours we were there. Aperitivo in this part of Italy is a culture not merely a drink, but a great way to end the day or start the evening.

Cocktails are sublime and food.. No there’s no adjective for that.. you should just come and try!!! It’s the 4th I come here..!
