The enclosed square filtered out the... read more In a noisy desert of mediocre restaurants this is a peaceful oasis. We came across it by chance and we're so happy we did. The enclosed square filtered out the noise of the nearby streets and music generating from various locations. The food choice was great with one of our party gluton intolerant they catered fantastically. The service was exemplary with a special mention to Luca our waiter. His knowledge of the menu and our needs were great, his mannerisms, professional approach encompassing his bright, light, caring and funny personality made the whole experience far more than expected and worthy of my and our groups plaudits. If you're in the area I would advise you to leave the main streets where the food available is the same in every restaurant and spend a quiet relaxing meal in this haven.

We arrived on a quiet Saturday night due to the Inter-Milan soccer game. The normally bustling area was deserted as everyone was watching the soccer game. There were more staff than patrons. Yet, the waiter sent to us did not speak English.. He was frustrated by the language barrier and was very rude. Keep in mind, this is the heart of the tourist area. There are no menus, just a bar code. What popped up was in Italian. So, we tried the restaurant website. We chose appetizers, entrees and wine. As it turned out none were available on the mysterious “new menu”. So, we went back to Italian only bar code, but this was after 20 minutes of the waiter gesturing to us in Italian. Keep in mind, other staff was standing around who did speak English. We asked to find when the wine we ordered would arrive . Turns out it wasn’t available. So, the waiter brings out FIVE BOTTLES that were available and plops them on the table. We are pretty knowledgeable, but didn’t recognize any. Picked a Chianti which was fine for the price. Bread finally arrived, but no plates or olive oil. Later, my husband’s entree, a grilled squid salad arrived, it looked lovely, but tasted mediocre. Unfortunately , they brought his gnocchi entree at the same time with no food that I ordered. We waved it off. After my husband finished his appetizer, they brought out the gnocchi which had clearly sat for twenty minutes. It was lukewarm and the vegetables were soggy mush. Here’s the best part! They bring me an order of gnocchi too, which was equally gross. Except, here’s the important detail, I DIDN'T ORDER GNOCCHI. I ORDERED TAGLIATELLE BOLOGNESE! The explanation in Italian (mostly) was that they didn’t have it! So, they brought what they had! Unbelievable! They also cleared the bread which was the only edible part of MY entire experience. Keep in mind, during this entire ordeal, we were trying to use Google Translate to communicate. We are sophisticated travelers that respect other cultures and do our best to learn important words and phrases in the countries we visit. At this point, our meal was so awful that all we could do was laugh and chalk it off to a travel experience that we will retell years later and giggle. But, on a rainy, chilly Saturday night, it was a huge disappointment. Plus, we had to pay for it. The only positive thing I can write is that we polished off the bottle of wine and by that time, the waiters had been sent home. The lone female that remained was friendly and ran our credit card. She specifically mentioned, you do not need to leave a tip. It was apparent she watched the entire debacle. Let this review be your warning. Don’t let the charming courtyard and restaurant suck you in unless all you want is a cup of coffee.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to have lunch and after reading the reviews, we decided to visit it. It happened to be a great choice! The food, the service, the place. Everything was charming. I could not recommend it enough.
