A short walk from where we stay and an sta... read more After three years absence we’re back visiting the parents and traditional first night meal is always at the sheriffs. A short walk from where we stay and an staggering distance home. Firstborn has been dreaming about the onion soup starter since our last visit, from all accounts it didn’t disappoint. Spouse had the croquettes and I had a roasted pepper salad, both excellent. Second born had bread and butter slathered in alioli and still smelt delightful the next day. Dad inhaled the mussels; ‘very good’ while experimental mum had garlic bread. I didn’t ask how that was, it’s garlic bread. My mains was a pork Skewer chips and salad. I felt like Zorro, it was a **** sword. Excellent though. Spouse’s garlic chicken was ‘ok, not enough sauce’. Kids had a margarita pizza each which was ok but as firstborn said ‘you go to sheriffs for the soup, not pizza’. Mum had an ok lasagne (bit runny) and dad a peppered steak. No puds as they stopped the crème Catalan a few years ago. Spouse was fuming. They need to bring that back as it was banging. Then I had an Irish coffee which was aces. Sent me spinning which didn’t bode well as then the after meal schnapps came out and no one but me wanted them. In fact mum and spouse sent the poor guy back for their favoured caramel vodka. So I had three shots of peach schnapps (and it wasn’t the archers variety folks) and two of apple. As firstborn pointed out, ‘you don’t need to drink them dad’. So? Fight me. A triumphant return with minor niggles and looking forward to our return.

Don’t be misled by the road behind this really is a secluded sandy cove and top class restaurant fare with no road noise. Antonio and Katy’s the owners hard work and professionalism shines through and we cannot recommend this venue highly enough. You can even stay in the apartments above the restaurant but book early. We recently returned from the resort and visited the beach/ restaurant a few times during our stay. We’ll definitely be returning as we have done for the last 20 years ! David Sandra

We had reserved sunbeds from 11:00 and lunch with San... read more Yesterday 08 july 2022 we spent a whole day outing at the Sheriffs Bar and Restuarant in La Cala de Mijas. We had reserved sunbeds from 11:00 and lunch with Sangria at around 14:00. The restuarant was soo busy so we told them we could wait an hour with lunch. The meal was perfect biquerones fritos and the Sangria excellent. After an afternoon siesta and just dazing in the sun we ordered at pizza to go to eat at home. We eat at the Sheriffs fairly often and have never been dissappointed. It is a family run restuarant with a superb menu, both Spanish and International and the service is excellent. The restuarant is on the beach. Antonio ,Katia and the rest of the family/ staff really deserve full marks for their restuarant which by the way also has apartments all with balconys with full seaview. So if you are in the vicinity drop in or preferably make a reservation so as not to be dissappoined. Sandie and Ulf
