The food is excellent. We had the duck bread and meatballs, both cooked to perfection and delicious. Good but not great wine selection but half off on Wednesday night. Only negative is noise level. I measured dBels at our table View all feedback.
What Roxana Del Campo doesn't like about Heirloom Midway:
The food was not great. The fried chicken was good but the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from the box. The corn was 100% can corn, the shrimp was overcooked, the grits texture was off. Given the reviews and price, expected better. View all feedback.
Stylish, upscale southern-inspired dining with attentive service. The chicken liver w/ravioli, and buffalo chicken sandwich were both excellent. Unique cocktails and reasonable wine by the glass. Pro tip: half-price wine bottles on Wednesdays.
Midway is so cute and Heirloom was a perfect place to grab a bite. It's good comfort food with an elevated flare. You can tell the wait staff and chefs take pride in the experience you get there. Will be coming back for dessert, as we were too full to indulge. Photo features the fried chicken with sawmill gravy and my partner got the fish and chips. Both delcious.
Good, but not as good as it used to be. There's nothing wrong with the food in fact it's always tasty, but the overall experience just not quite worth the money. One of the main reason for losing one star is the wine. Heirloom features a long but uninspired wine list of mostly $65-$85 bottles of primarily California/new world style reds. This makes it hard to me to find pairings; Couple this with the higher than usual mark up, the bill at the end of the meal made me wonder if I should not have picked Holly Hill. I do like the small plate menu they have implemented.
Made reservations for Saturday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely experience. The service was superb and the food and cocktails were delicious! I recommend the crab cake sandwich, French fries, and **** Mary. My mom and aunt loved the chicken livers too!
Located in historic downtown Midway, this restaurant is a nice find for an out of the way dining experience that is too far from Lexington only about 20 25 minutes drive. The food and service are both excellent. We had the cream of asparagus soup and spinach salad with warm bacon dressing to start. The salad was large enough to share and very good. Soup very good also. We had the ricotta dumplings and the fried chicken as entrees. Both were excellent, and arrived at the table hot and fresh. The only downside was the sound level it was very loud the night that we visited. Overall it's a winner.
