Went toward Richmond and decided to eat at The Flying Pig for the first time. This place was absolutely scrumptious. Our server was Jaimie and she was attentive, friendly, and helpful we loved her and when we do drive back again will definitely be askingfor her again. She was also patient with the kids while they chose and read off their orders, detail oriented, and sopersonable. I got the nachos with brisket, my husband got Brisket tacos and smoked stuffed jalapeños, both kids got Mac ncheese, fries, and a salad. The salad had toasted cornbread for croutons, served warm. They were sweet, crunchy, andunique. Both the sweet and vinegar barbecue sauces were heavenly, and mixed together on the brisket they were an explosion offlavor so good we bought a bottle of each to use at home for pork burnt ends. 10/10 Definitely Recommend, will be back evenwith the hour drive!
Had a really excellent Monday night special barbecue ribs. The ribs were absolutely fall off the bone and excellent. The house salad is amazing and the blue cheese crumbles are fantastic. Matt, the general manager, checked in on us and make sureeverything was taken care of. The food came out quickly and was served hot. I would highly recommend this place. Everyone seemto be enjoying themselves. It's a little loud on the inside which makes it hard for us old people to hear.
Best barbecue on the Southside. We have dinner and drinks here often. Definitely check out the weekday and happy hour specials. I love the pulled pork barbecue. Their fried okra is awesome. The Nachos are massive so plan on sharing or takingsome home.
This is by far the best ?southern style? place. All cooked fresh and fast. My server was as wonderful as the food. I?m coming back and telling all of my friends! I was so jealous of my kids chicken. It was so good. I liked everyone?s food. We all tried anibble of each others. Thank you for being a place to come to.
A popular sports bar/grill w ample booths tables and bar. Though we were quickly seated, we waited nearly 10 minutes before a waitress approached our table. We chose to shared the Smoke Hickory Pulled Pork barbecue plate added a house salad as a side. I literally was shocked when a single cup of pulled pork was placed before us. In a room full of huge portions of fried foods, the diminutive cup BBQ was underwhelming. I felt like I was counting points w Weight Watchers! In contrast, the two housesalads that were presented looked very appealing. Fresh greens w corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, croutons in a bowl. Drizzled with a lime viniagrette dressing, my salad was light, tasty, with alot of texture. The salads redeemed our mealtotally! Once we started eating the pulled pork, we both agreed that it was really good; super tasty, even before adding theirsweet and vinegary sauces. The Flying Pig wins with outstanding flavor quality of food they serve. In our case, the samplesize of pineapple cole slaw that accompanied the 1 cup of bbq was inadequate for a $15 pricetag. After the initialdisappointment, we ate slowly, enjoyed our meals, and walked out satisfied; without carrying a takehome bag like most. We'lldefinitely return, because the food was so good.
