Played here on a rainy Saturday morning....staff in Pro Shop were top notch super friendly and with the rain we spent a bit of time chatting with them and they were most courteous and helpful. We had the course to ourselves with the rain and the new owner even stopped by on 18th green to say hello as we were finishing. Despite the dry summer we have had the course was in great shape. What Фьодор Римпопов doesn't like about Brooklea Inn Golf & Country Club:
played Brooklea for the first time in two years last month. It is a good course, but there is a lot of construction and maintenance on such a hole is a par 3 60yrd? and some other holes had heavy equipment blocked Fairways, but its... an average course.. The sand traps are not maintained and the reach is over a busy road, so their not really accessible. This time, however, I feel that the fairways were not so hard an... View all feedback.
Haven't played this course for a couple of years and found the layout changed. Changes a great improvement. Course grooming top notch with fairway grass clipping blown aside. Greens in excellent shape. Recent heavy rains took all bunkers out of play with a free drop. Thoughtful! Will visit again.
I visited a family friend's cottage and played some golf over the weekend. The course has returned to its 5-star status! Many bunkers have been upgraded, the greens are among the best in the area, and the woman working at the golf shop (who is also the owner) was very friendly and went out of her way to assist us. I will definitely be returning in 2020!
This is the email I wrote to the club, regarding their April 1 Easter Brunch, 10:30 sitting. I just had to let you know that this was the most disappointing brunch my wife and I have ever had there. The food and selection was mediocre,...at best, most of the food trays were empty by 30 minutes after the serving started, and there were also no clean plates at that point. It took ages and more than one server to get coffee. When we needed to leave, nobody could find that Visa machine. At $29 per person, we should have reasonably expected much better. We have always looked forward, with anticipation to your brunches. We no longer will.
We went to the Mother's Day brunch on May 13, 2018. The restaurant has new owners and unfortunately, despite having enjoyed many good meals and brunches at Brooklea in the past, this experience was very disappointing and a waste of money. The food was below standard and the staff seemed disorganized and unaccommodating. Many other customers were also complaining about the high cost for low quality food. To break it down, the main course was thin slices of roast beef and cold, lumpy mashed potatoes with no vegetables. The ham seemed like canned meat. There was no carving station as in previous years and the pasta option looked like it was from a can. The salmon was uncooked and could have caused food poisoning. The breakfast theme over the brunch included frozen potatoes instead of fresh roasted, runny eggs, cold or overcooked sausage, overcooked Eggs Benedict, and a poorly stocked waffle station. The omelettes looked like sloppy joes. The dessert counter was not well stocked, the drinks were subpar, and the atmosphere was filled with grumbling customers. The facilities were run down and in need of updating. The poorly trained wait staff left bills on tables without checking if customers were satisfied with their meals. I was overcharged for my children, despite being assured they ate free when I booked. Overall, I give this experience a 0 out of 10 and would not recommend it. If I get sick from the food, I will be contacting the food inspection agency to examine the facility.
This golf course and restaurant are an annual birthday event for my best friend and myself. It starts with golf, its an okay course, but all courses are a challenge really. It is usually in pretty good condition, and I believe now has new owners, which will mean improvements, hopefully. Afterwards we have a light lunch and a cold beer. Give it a try, don't expect too much from the course, just enjoy your day. We did, and come back every year. If you plan to golf on Sunday, then book the Sunday Brunch also, really amazing.
