What Erin C doesn't like about Harrie's Jailhouse:
The downstairs bar has a great atmosphere. We started with the southern dippers, which are fried green tomatoes and fried pickles. I had the special, a chicken cutlet with house-made pepper relish and arugula. My husband had the jailhouse grinder. Both dishes were generous in size. I had the special, a chicken cutlet with house-made pepper relish and arugula. My husband had the jailhouse grinder. Both dishes were generous in size. Unfortunately, you have to pay extra for fries, onion rings, salad, or chips. The only issue I had was that there was only one brand of vodka available, Tito's. I have an allergy to Tito's and prefer grain-based vodkas like Absolute, Stoli, or Grey Goose for my vodka martini. If they had more options, we would definitely become regular customers.
I was a bit skeptical when I pulled up, they converted a house into a restaurant. The upstairs is a dining room and you go around back to the basement for the bar. I wasn't even sure I was walking in the right door. Atmosphere was unique and intimate, very small bar area, 8 seats maybe, with 4-5 tables, cramped but with enough elbow room to not be uncomfortable. I had these mini fried Buffalo chicken empanada things, the fried deviled eggs, and a turkey bacon club sandwich. Everything was great, delicious food, highest quality food I've ever had in a basement, though it's my only time eating in a basement. I highly recommend you try this place, don't judge a book by its cover. Every time I go the service is great, they always give you great advice on what to order.
Came by this cute little place this weekend with a friend. The ambiance was very nice and we both enjoyed our drinks which were made perfectly. The food just didn't hit for me, unfortunately.. I had the sanguiche and the fig jam that comes with it was just too overpowering and took away from the tasty Italian meats that I love. I got no flavor of mortadella which is my favorite meat of all time. There was maybe one slice of each meat on a HUGE sandwich. There should have been a bit more meat and a bit less bread. All in all, I think I just made the wrong choice of sandwich and would be willing to try them again if another one of my friends wanted to try.

The restaurant was fantastic in every aspect. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was top-notch, and overall it was a 5-star experience. Highly recommend.
