Franco's sauces are truly exceptional, and his pasta dishes are top-notch. Last night for dinner, K had the stuffed shells, which were absolutely delightful—perfectly seasoned and rich in flavor. Our salads were fresh and fantastic, dressed with Franco's balsamic vinaigrette (which he also sells by the bottle). However, the highlight for me was the simple sausage and pepper sub. I believe a lot of it comes down to Franco's sourcing; the sausage, like the balsamic vinegar and his incredible sauces, is definitely not the average grocery store variety. That's what sets Franco's apart and makes it truly remarkable.
Since their makeover by Restaurant Impossible, the menu has been significantly streamlined and features all new items, with none of the old dishes available. The new menu is quite delicious, though it is notably limited in options. The revamped dining area is pleasant, but lacks soundproofing, resulting in a noisy atmosphere even when the place is not crowded. Despite this, I still recommend it for its unique and tasty offerings.
I visited Italian Rest in Middletown for the first time, and I had a great experience. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous.
The Chicken Parmigiana Hero is fantastic! My son really enjoys the Children's Penne Pasta with sauce.
The restaurant offers straightforward traditional Italian dishes that have a hint of American influence. It's the kind of comforting cuisine that reminds you of meals prepared in an Italian 'mama's' kitchen. For the main course, dinner comes with a choice of soup or salad. I chose the spaghetti with garlic and oil, adding shrimp, and the portion was quite generous. While it could have used a touch more salt and pepper according to my personal taste, I still enjoyed it. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.
