However, my experiences at the Middletown location have been disappointing. I've been there three times, and I hoped the third time would be better. On September 11, 2022, I ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon and requested it "no bun." The cashier asked if I had a food allergy or a dietary preference, and I explained it was just my choice. I also ordered the same burger for my husband but with a bun. The cashier repeated my order, confirming that he understood. After our hike, we were eager for a meal. When I picked up our order, I was dismayed to find that both burgers were wrapped in lettuce instead of one with a bun and one without. I didn’t check the receipt while waiting because I’ve never had issues at Five Guys before. My husband was unhappy and returned to the cashier to explain the mix-up, asking if he could just get the buns to fix it himself. The cashier looked at him as if he were crazy and said, "I don’t think we can do that." Frustrated, my husband ended up ordering another burger for our son and went back to the car. Despite being hungry, he didn't even eat his burger after that. We could have gone to Wendy’s, but we were hoping for great burgers. Instead, we left feeling dissatisfied and disappointed because the cashier wouldn't rectify his mistake. On top of that, the small fries were really tiny—far from what I'd expect. We ended up paying nearly $50, and my husband didn't get to enjoy his favorite burger. I won’t be stopping by this location again.
