Athenian Diner - Middletown

This restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes! The omelet and sweet potato fries were delicious, and the chocolate chip pancakes were also tasty. The service is consistently excellent. I did notice that the strawberries were frozen, not fresh, and the cappuccino was too hot and burned my tongue, so be aware of that. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!

I am from Florida and was impressed by the delicious home fries and perfectly crafted challah French toast at this restaurant. I would definitely return here again.

We were in Middletown, CT., a few days ago and thought we’d catch a bite at the Athenian II Diner Restaurant. Even though they offer a great selection of Greek, Italian and American dishes, we opted for breakfast which is served at anytime during the day. We enjoyed a hearty, homestyle meal that hit the spot from start to finish! Expect generous portions, decent prices and fantastic service. Our Server, Rosana, was warm, friendly and very welcoming. —She made us feel right at home which was truly appreciated after a long day on the road. As a service professional, she made sure that our dining experience was a good one; and we appreciated that as well. As an aside in this review, I’d also like to mention that the restaurant has a nice, relaxed vibe. …And it was really nice to see, who we learned, is the restaurant owner, John Daoutis, taking time up front to greet new customers and their regular guest. With this kind of devotion, it’s no wonder that this family owned business is nearing 30 years of providing great food and service! Yes, we definitely recommend the Athenian II and plan to visit again when we’re in the area. PS. Slices of Strawberry and Raspberry Cheesecakes To-Go was excellent too!

A few friends and I came by after searching around for a bit. We were greeted by a polite lady at the front and sent to dine immediately after. Our waiter, Adriana (sorry if I butchered the name, I am terrible at remembering them) was as kind as she was patient while my buddies went on about the irony of not wanting potatoes with the steak but then asking for fries. When she wasn't taking our order or asking about our experience she was off making small talk to the customers seated near us and checking the tables to make sure they were clean for future diners. I had the fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken and broccoli which was great, although I love pasta so I may be a bit biased in that regard. All in all, we had a great dining experience while there and I am looking forward to next time.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this lovely establishment where a group of friends gather every Friday night to enjoy a meal together. The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. The staff made us feel right at home and were efficient in serving everyone quickly and accurately. The kitchen staff works hard preparing all the meals, and it shows in the quality of the dishes. The desserts looked tempting, but I was too full from my delicious dinner to try them. The menu offers a wide variety of options for every meal of the day, making it difficult to choose just one. I will definitely be returning next Friday to continue this tradition and make it a regular part of my dining experiences. Whether it's a large group gathering, a date night, or a quick meal for yourself, this restaurant is the perfect choice.
