At 9/29/22 in the evening, I ordered to go truffle friars. I waited about 30 minutes for my order when the restaurant wasn't busy at all? there were only two other people. When the food finally came, it wasn't in a to-go container. Besides, it was completely cold. I think my server had forgotten my order. She also had an attitude and was not friendly at all. Very disappointed. However, the next day I went back to lun... View all feedback.
My family has been up for over 50 years. The inn is not the original standards. Ribs were delicious, but not long enough cooked, chicken was well seasoned, but dry, medium rare burger came well made, and lobster Mac and cheese had three bites lobster in a pound of Mac and cheese. The new england clam chowder was not the original at all and the shells were hard and chew. Our plates didn't get Takin until we paid the bill. Very discouraging.
I think underwhelmed is the word to describe our experience. We expected more of such a historic place. The crab cakes were small, dry and hidden under wild salad. We ordered the halibut for the main course and it was very over. I feel they were underoccupied, and I understand it, all restaurants are in this economic climate, but it is not fair that the patron still calculates very high prices.
We went for a celebration lunch! We were a bit concerned since they stopped service at 2 and it was 1:40 but they sat us and made us feel welcome! Both of us ordered the specials -Philly Cheese Steak Fish Tacos! Food was delicious. Server was nice but only one on and seemed a bit distracted; however, we really enjoyed our lunch and would go back!
Unfortunately had the worst experience here. Our waitress, Terri, was very kind and hospitable. Can?t say anything negative about the service. However, can?t say anything good about the food experience. My friend and I ordered a cup of soup that came out looking like unappetizing baby food, and was completely cold. We paid $15 for food that was simply inedible, cancelled the entree order, and left.
Great meal at Morgan?s Tavern! We saw the Very positive TripAdvisor reviews and were very happy with both the service and the meals. Almost all menu items are locally sourced and the Sunrise Burger with onion rings was delicious. Cooked perfectly with a great crust and flavor. Definitely worth the time to find and enjoy a meal. My wife had a turkey reuben with freshly made sweet potato fries and that was also great. The fries has the perfect mix of crunch and softness to let the sweet potato flavor come through.
