However, we decided to give it another try yester... read more We visited Oakover restaurant about 8 months ago and while the food was just okay, we weren't eager to return. However, we decided to give it another try yesterday and we are so glad we did. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. My mum ordered the big breakfast without eggs and it was more than enough for her. It was fresh and she loved it. My daughter had the Breakfast burger which came with 3 hashbrowns. The portion was so large that we had to take half of it home, but she loved it. The burger was reheated the next morning and my son couldn't stop raving about the flavor. I had the Eggs Benedict with Pulled Pork and asked for my eggs to be well done. They were the best eggs I've ever had and the pulled pork was delicious. While the prices are still a bit high, the quality of the food has improved since our last visit and we see it as a step in the right direction. The kids are already looking forward to having another Breakfast burger.

Unfortunately, both paddle boats were broken, as mentioned in previous reviews. We hope they are fixed soon. The children were disappointed as they were looking forward to cruising on the lake in the paddle boat. The food was delicious and the wine was excellent. We plan to visit again, hoping the paddle boats will be working. One downside was the flies, so it's better to sit outside.

I would definitely recommend it for a lovely day out, especially on a sunny day.

Deli board was fresh and generous for four people with fresh crusty bread, olives,cheese and pate. For mains the burger and fries is very big. Pork belly was fresh and tasty with apple cider salad, and the salt and pepper squid was very good too. Desserts are limited but the panaotta was generous in size and very nice. Coffees were excellent using fiori coffee. Table service was great with attentive staff even though the restaurant was booked out.
