The best-kept secret in Amana...Mrs. Doris bakes some of the finest treats you'll ever taste! You simply can't miss the cinnamon rolls, and the streusels are incredible too. I always look forward to visiting early in the morning!

I moved to Amana in the summer of 2022 for three months and kept hearing about this legendary woman, Oma, who runs the last original hearth oven in Amana. Trust me, readers, getting in touch with Mrs. Doris to place your order is just as challenging as it is rewarding. She only bakes on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings, and you must call the day before to place your order. The best place to find her phone number and bakery information is on Facebook. Make sure to arrive as early as you can in the morning. The food is absolutely delicious and tends to sell out quickly. It's definitely worth taking the time to visit!

Hahn Bakery makes all their baked goods 100% FROM SCRATCH, not the inferior mass produced mixes other bakeries use now. I am shocked at how much better Hahn's baked goods are. When traveling to the Amana Colonies, we call in our order 48 hours in advance and leave Omaha an hour early just to make the 4 hour drive in time before Hahn closes. The lady who owns the Bakery is the lady waiting on you at the counter. She is very nice and personable and you just feel good in her presence. Make yourself happy- go to Hahn's. You won't regret it.
