This was everything I could have asked for in a German meal. I ordered the wurst combo with all the delicious sides it came with. We also tried the chocolate peanut butter cake. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ox Yoke Inn:
I do not recommend the family-style breakfast at this restaurant. The hash browns tasted like frozen patties, the toast was cold and hard, and the pancakes were thin and frozen. Overall, I was disappointed with the quality of the breakfast. View all feedback.
I love the Amana colonies and this is one of the reasons why. Great food, service and atmosphere. This place is the perfect family dining experience. We only went for lunch on this visit but, we waited 20 minutes to be seated, and there were open tables visible. I'm guessing this was due to staff shortage. Our server greeted us when we sat, but didn't take drink orders and informed us that we would have to wait until she delivered food to other tables. She didn't return for another 15 or so minutes. Drink orders were taken (water for me) and it took quite a while for them to be delivered. Then she finally took our lunch orders. All in all, my Rueben sandwich was average. There was absolutely nothing special about it. The 1000 Island dressing was served on the side, which I found odd, considering it's one of the main ingredients. The fries I ordered were basic frozen fries, unseasoned. Not even salt. I'm guessing they don't salt anything. Even my friends' meals were bland. I don't understand the hype regarding this restaurant, unless it's the fact they serve the main courses family style if you request it. The server also explained that the veggies served with main dinners are from cans, but the canned green beans have onion and bacon added. Maybe to hide the tin taste. Would I go back??? Maybe, but I wouldn't go out of my way (over an hour away) to eat dinner there. Nearby activities: Oktoberfest Walkability: Within walking distance from all of the shops.
