We are staying at Badwell Ash holiday lodges over Christmas and noticed this pub whilst out walking yesterday, so decided to try their Thai food tonight. What a fantastic meal! The set starter for two was delicious and not scrimpy like some restaurants! My red curry was the best I've had and the coconut rice was scrumptious. I wish this restaurant was in my home town in Notts. My husband and me didn't stop talking ab... View all feedback.
What gemma skipper doesn't like about The Elmswell Fox:
Went to this pub for the first time excited to try the food. The man serving the drinks was very kind and welcoming, however when we went to order food, the other man said there was no food as there was no chef and asked if we could cook do we want a job. The younger man apologised for the older guy’s behaviour. Very disappointed as other people in the pub where eating food. Will not be returning. Price per person: £... View all feedback.
I had a wonderful 84th birthday meal and drinks at The Fox. The service provided by Jummy, the landlord, was top-notch. The meal, prepared by Nan, a delightful Thai lady, was absolutely fantastic. Overall, I had a fantastic birthday celebration at The Fox.
The food at this pub/restaurant is incredibly overpriced and lacks authenticity. On a recent trip back from Cambridge, we ordered six dishes and the only authentic and tasty one was a papaya salad that the Thai chef kindly prepared for us, despite not being on the menu. The main dishes were bland and seemed to taste the same, despite being different orders. The Tom Yum soup was not fresh and was made from powder. A side of vegetables in oyster sauce was disappointing, as it only contained broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and English mushrooms, rather than the more expensive oyster or shiitake mushrooms one might expect for the price of £7.95.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and the service is excellent. I will definitely be returning soon to enjoy more of their tasty dishes.
After reading the reviews I was a bit dubious about what to expect but all I can say is what an amazing meal and dinning experience. We have eaten Tai food at many top restaurants around the country and in my opinion this rates as one of the best. The service was excellent and I must say that our waitress Tamsin was a real credit to the restaurant, nothing was to much trouble. Jimmy who It turns out is the owner was such a character he really made our night, he really is a star. I enquired as to who the chef was and her name is Nan, absolutely amazing food. A great night had and can't wait to return.
Me and my husband Arrived to be greeted at the bar by a young lady who was clearly under the influence of something, tho she did not serve our food, But the lady who did was fantastic and polite, we found it incredible watching this younger lady dart around the pub frantically, whilst on the her mobile phone, it was our nights entertainment wasn’t sure if we had entered a restaurant or some sort of half way house, but on the positive side the food was excellent and could not be faulted. If our rating was based purely on food and restaurant service this would be a definite 4 star, this is just not what we expected to see whilst having our meal
