The hosts own the pub, as well as the fabulous holiday accommodation we stayed in (look it up, it's in Meshaw). We had a two course Sunday lunch, the food was divine and hands down the best roast we had ever eaten out and would rival any top food restaurant! The portion sizes were generous and quality of the food and presentation was excellent, we didn't hesitate to devour every last mouthful. We also had a delicious bottle of red that paired the food perfectly and was fairly priced. The hosts couldn't have been more friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. You could easily drive by this pub, as at the moment it is being rethatched, but don't be put off, as inside it has been sympathetically restored and oozes old warn charm. Thank you Steve, Oliver and team, we will definelty be back when in the area! Don't drive by this fabulous gem, you will regret it!!

Our group all had a two cours... read more We have just left The Stag after spending a lovely afternoon there for lunch. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. Our group all had a two course meal and the food was amazing. The Pork Belly and Beef Brisket were both lovely. The pub is beautifully decorated inside. We will definitely be visiting again.
