These dumplings are definitely worth the trip, no matter the distance! I absolutely love the soup dumplings; the dough is perfect, and they come with a generous filling. The pan-fried dumplings are always a delicious choice as well. I also tried the spicy potatoes, which were quite unique. They weren't cooked as thoroughly as you would find with hash browns, allowing them to have a noodle-like texture. This place is a no-frills spot that serves generous portions with delicious flavors. The food was prepared quickly, too.
Dumpling King is located in a bit of a sketchy area, and the interior is quite simple; they focus more on the food than on the decor. However, the dining experience is exceptional. I highly recommend ordering the fried dumplings, suppenknödel, and mapo tofu. We opted for the steamed dumplings to save some calories, but honestly, it wasn't worth it. It's also worth mentioning that the knödel are huge! I would definitely bring some friends along next time to try a variety of noodles.
