Panorama Restaurant & Sky Lounge at Sonesta Bayfront Hotel Coconut Grove

Nice setting, service was okay. Overpriced for the food. The fried calamari was over fried, my husband's pasta entree was lukewarm, the bottom bun on my sandwich was completely soggy. Even the sangrias were only okay. I wouldn't complain if it was priced much lower, just expected better.

It is by the hotel pool and the pool is under construction so sitting outside wasn't that great, I also didn't realize it was pretty casual but the food and service was good and its a minute walk to the movie theater.

I made my reservation online after seeing the Saturday Brunch Menu for Panorama. Photos of this restaurant make it seem MUCH larger, hip, and trendy than it actually is. It truthfully has the capacity for people. My reservation was for people. When I arrived my table was not prepared. The staff informed me that they were no longer serving a Saturday brunch, although I had called earlier in the week to confirm. I was disappointed all around with this experience, and do not recommend it. It set back my birthday brunch plans by over an hour while trying to find another restaurant. It could have been avoided by being told they did not serve brunch anymore, due to new management. Also, the outside area was unavailable for dining due to pool renovations. A big NO all around.

Had specifically reserved for the Miami Spice menu and for the touted views, but was disappointed upon arrival and finding out not only is it a small sterile space but that they were not honoring the website Miami spice menu! The waiter told us the website had not been updated and that the hotel (Sonesta) is no longer owned by same corporation and in midst of changing. The chef staff has some changes too and the regular menu was not why we chose to come. We did have a view from the inside table we sat at which is what saved the evening. The food was mediocre. The restaurant has no ambience and is completely lack of decor. The outside area is undergoing construction and not feasible for dining.

Overall I had a good time at Panorama. The view was beautiful. The view of the water was very calming. The food was good. Service was fine but I think the wait staff could've been a bit more personable.
