Amazing service, phenomenal food and just a great time! Our servers were attentive, offered great recommendations and even gave us something on the house to celebrate our anniversary. What a nice night. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Motek Mediterranean Cafe:
We went last year and loved food, service and ambience. Not this time when dwntwn goes under an expansive renovation, the whole thing feels so abandoned that every good mood kills. The ambience in the gallery was not nice, the restaurant itself is good, but the music was too loud, the food came for the 4 of us at different times, the service was friendly, but overall the experience was not good View all feedback.
When the food arrived, it was all served at once, which was less than ideal. We had a mix of cold mezes, hot mezes, and entrées all on the table at the same time without any opportunity to savor them. We had to rush through our meal to prevent it from getting cold, and just minutes later, while we were still eating the seven appetizers and entrées, our desserts were placed on the table. These desserts, topped with ice cream, began to melt almost immediately due to their warmth. When we asked if they could pop it in the freezer to keep it cool, we were told the freezer was being cleaned and they couldn’t help us. To me, it’s quite unusual to be served dessert while still eating the main course. To add to the poor experience, the server dropped the check on our table before we had even touched our desserts. Every aspect of this experience conveyed a clear message: we were not welcome there, and we will not return. While the food is undeniably delicious, the service and management were incredibly rude, lacking in basic hospitality. They even included an 18% gratuity on our bill for a party of two, without a single apology or acknowledgement of the issues we faced. The manager was present but never bothered to check in on us. No one asked if our food was satisfactory, and no one offered us any additional drinks when our beverages were finished. All in all, it was a frustrating experience that overshadowed the quality of the food.
Love that this is so casual in a jewelry mall. The food was extremely fresh, super tasty....loved the small falafel, hummus was unreal, excellent eggplant dish, great fresh herbs and mint to dip into items....hot tea....was a perfect place for us to lunch and catch up. Will definitely be back.
After reading great reviews about this place I was keen to dine here. I was indecisive about what to order as there were so many great dishes to choose from! The chicken skewer was edible but lacked flavour. Halloumi is standard, can't go wrong and it was delicious. The restaurant was located in a building full of jewellery stores; I almost missed it completely!
The location is a bit unusual since you have to walk through a jewelry shopping center to get there, but the food is definitely worth it. I started with the matboucha and bread, which were both delicious. Being a fan of schnitzel, I ordered that as well. The pita and hummus that came with it were excellent; the pita was soft, and the hummus was well-prepared. The schnitzel was topped with sesame seeds, making it crunchy and well-portioned. The mint tea was refreshing, especially with all the mint leaves floating in it. To top it all off, the babka bread pudding was fantastic—hot with crispy bits outside and a soft inside, paired with melty ice cream. I would definitely come back! The service was efficient and attentive, too.
This charming little restaurant is tucked away in a small mall and can easily go unnoticed. The food is absolutely amazing, and the service is excellent! Be sure not to miss it!
